Senior UI Engineering Lead Eric Baldoni has been collaborating with the Flower Press team for 13 of his 25+ years of experience. worked on the Flower Press team since 2020. Eric received his BFA in Graphic Design from Boston University and has worked as an Art Director, Designer, and UI Engineer.
What got you interested in a career in tech?
I studied graphic design and photography at the university level. I worked in photography labs for years as a custom printer, but emerging technology in the field made it necessary to adapt. I learned to code and started building websites.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I guess I’d say the start of a new project, when we conduct research and test platforms and components to create the best user experience for our clients’ customers.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your work?
Probably the ever-rapidly changing landscape of development process and technique and creating responsive interfaces for the growing number of devices.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I play bass guitar in a number of revolving projects. I am also an avid birder and desert animal observer.
Are there any projects that stand out to you?
I prefer challenging work, like projects that use only custom-styled components with no UI platform support. These projects test our skills to create unique, original components from the creative designs provided by our team.
What would surprise people about your job?
That we often need to responsively style one codebase for viewing across numerous devices with different screen sizes and operating systems. Not always an easy task!
