Updating a popular Salesforce loyalty rewards application

The Challenge

A leading manufacturer of exterior home improvement products, including siding, decking, and roofing needed to update their digital offerings. Their contractor and dealer targeted loyalty rewards application was on an aging platform which was being deprecated. They were already using Salesforce as a backbone of the operation, and migrating to that platform made sense. Salesforce recently launched Mobile Publisher, which allows users to access full functionality using a mobile app for iOS and Android. Their Salesforce consulting firm needed a user experience design partner to create designs for the web app and mobile app experience.

The Outcome

The resulting Salesforce Mobile Publisher App is available for iOS and Android and seamlessly integrates with Salesforce to serve contractors and dealers with a high-quality loyalty rewards experience. The web app is also accessible in a browser with a fully mobile-responsive layout. Users can access their loyalty rewards on the go and upload receipts, check requests, and spend the rewards collected on various incentives. The system is easy to administer using Salesforce as a powerful way to push real-time updates to users. Since its launch, the app has gained 5-star reviews and increased engagement among customers.

Our Approach

A Salesforce consulting company engaged Flower Press Interactive to create a high-quality user experience for the Salesforce Mobile Publisher App. We started by conducting stakeholder interviews with the client and Salesforce Business Analysts. It was critical to understand the path users would take through the system and how frequently data would update in order to design things appropriately. We created wireframes and a prototype to gain final approval on the information architecture and user flow. We incorporated existing brand assets from the client to create a co-branded interface for the web app. We developed assets for the mobile app experience and customized interactions for iOS and Android as needed. Our UI development team collaborated with developers at the Salesforce consulting company to implement the web app. Using Mobile Publisher through Salesforce, we created versions for approval in the App Store and Play Store. We included custom app icons and app graphics to entice users to download and try out the system.

Ongoing Growth

The Salesforce Mobile Publisher App offers numerous features to its growing base of dealers and contractors. As they gain additional users, the Salesforce-backed system provides flexibility to make changes and implement new features as needed. Systems like this, powered by Salesforce Mobile Publisher, represent a new wave of possibilities for B2B companies looking to engage with their user base.
