User Experience Design.

Thoughtful user experience design is foundational to building products people understand, adopt, and trust. At Flower Press Interactive, UX is not a surface-level exercise or a phase that happens after requirements are set. It is an ongoing process of discovery, validation, and refinement that helps teams validate direction early, reduce execution risk, and focus investment on products users understand and adopt.

Our UX Approach

Our UX work is grounded in product discovery, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making.

We begin by working closely with stakeholders to understand business goals, constraints, and success criteria. These early conversations establish shared context and surface assumptions that need to be explored, tested, or clarified before design decisions are made.

From there, we map workflows that reflect how different user segments move through the product. Rather than prescribing a single solution, we explore multiple workflow variations to evaluate different approaches and tradeoffs, helping teams align on direction before committing to build.

Light copy is introduced at this stage to convey product intent and tone, helping stakeholders and users react to the experience as a whole.

Selected workflows are translated into interactive prototypes. These prototypes are intentionally low to medium fidelity, keeping attention on structure, flow, and clarity while allowing rapid iteration within known technical and operational constraints.

Product Research Demos and Validation

We use these prototypes in product research demos conducted one-on-one, organized by user segment, and typically involving small sample sizes. Participants are asked to think aloud as they move through the experience, allowing us to observe how they interpret what they see, where they hesitate, and whether the product aligns with their expectations. These sessions provide early signals around understanding, adoption, and fit.

This approach reflects established research practices recommended by the Nielsen Norman Group, which has shown that small-sample, qualitative sessions uncover the majority of high-impact usability and comprehension issues early in the process.

Rather than relying on large studies upfront, we learn quickly, refine direction, and validate again as needed.

UX as an Ongoing Practice

UX does not end when a prototype is approved or a feature ships.

We continue to revisit the user experience throughout the build and after launch through ongoing research conversations. This iterative approach is core to our culture at Flower Press Interactive and has led to both product success and long-standing recognition from Clutch, The Manifest, the Indigo Design Awards, and the Web Excellence Awards for UX and interaction design.

By treating UX as an ongoing practice, teams are better equipped to respond to change, improve adoption, and evolve products over time.

How This Fits Into Our Work

UX is deeply integrated into how we design and build products.
