Mastering UI Design: 5 Key Elements for Crafting an Intuitive User Interface

Flower Press Interactive aims to create intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces. Below are five elements we consider during our User Interface (UI) design process:

Flexible:

Good UI design serves many people with many different goals and needs. Offering accessibility options and allowing users to complete tasks at their own pace keeps a product flexible and extends its audience.

Simple:

There’s no need to recreate the wheel. Some UI design principles are tried and true, and sticking with them will result in users who are instantly comfortable with your product. Flower Press engineers leverage existing platforms, but also excel at creating custom solutions where we see room for improvement.

Responsive:

Successful UI design is responsive across devices and screen sizes. Information is not lost or difficult to access whether it is being viewed on a desktop, tablet, or phone screen or in vertical or horizontal orientation. Menus, copy, and images adapt to whatever screen they are being viewed on.

Perceptible:

Ambiguity has no place in good UI design. Information should be presented in multiple ways for multiple audiences to get the most out of your product. Bulleted lists, for example, keep information organized and easily digestible, while relevant imagery provides a visual.

Tolerant:

Even the best UI design can result in a user error. Alerting the user immediately and clearly displaying where and why the error occurred helps them get back on track fast and avoids frustration.
