Quality Assurance Engineer

An award-winning design studio is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer with an established freelance practice and the desire to grow their client base and work experience. Responsibilities will include engaging directly with clients and team members to test user-centered interfaces for websites, web apps, and mobile apps. Our studio includes 15+ team members servicing startups, and small and medium-sized businesses across industries ranging from healthcare and IT to education and insurance. Our studio was established in 2001 and has a solid reputation in the Seattle region.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in manual QA testing, technical writing or other technical fields
  • Enjoy exploring the customer experience in detail and confirming it works as expected
  • Access to some modern devices and browsers to facilitate “hands-on” testing
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Solid technical writing skills (clear, concise, accurate)
  • While you’ll be working individually, you’ll also be part of a fast-acting team; effective team communication required
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong learner, with the ability to acquire new skills through classes, on-the-job training, etc. a plus.
  • Experience working in a virtual environment. Must be self-motivated and driven.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of creating test scenarios and test plans
  • Basic knowledge of browser development tools
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, HTML
  • Basic knowledge of Git repositories and CLI commands
  • Familiarity with Jira and Bitbucket
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of Postman
  • Basic knowledge of Selenium, WebdriverIO or other testing frameworks
  • Comfort with web and mobile technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Review projects housed in apps and on the web (websites)
  • Use hands-on devices for manual testing (phones, tablets, desktops)
  • Help develop test cases
  • Use various operating systems, devices, and browsers for manual testing
  • Help maintain existing projects and features
  • Test new features across devices, operating systems, and browsers
  • Note bugs and ticketing for the development team
  • Compare and contrast wireframes to real-life final screens and pages
  • Capture and attempt to reproduce and ticket bugs reported by clients
  • Work with the QA team
  • Work with personnel and stakeholders from various departments (Dev, Design, etc.)

Software Engineer

An award-winning design studio is looking for a Software Engineer with an established freelance practice and the desire to grow their client base and work experience. Responsibilities will include working on various projects using React, React Native, and/or API Integration. Our studio includes 15+ team members servicing startups and small and medium-sized businesses across industries ranging from healthcare and IT to education and insurance. Our studio was established in 2001 and has a solid reputation in the Seattle region.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience and a degree in computer science, software development, programming, or equivalent
  • Online portfolio of work showing an understanding of the logic side of development
  • Experience with React and React Native, NodeJS, DB Design and/or API Integration
  • Knowledge of best practices for building Android, iOS, websites, and web apps Detail-oriented and organized
  • Knowledge of styling apps and websites using JS, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Experience working closely with design and development teams in an agile work environment is a plus
  • A strong learner, with the ability to acquire new skills through classes, on-the-job training, etc. a plus
  • Experience working in a virtual environment is a plus. Must be self-motivated and driven.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under our senior software engineer to collaborate on multiple builds
  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Integrate software components and third-party programs
  • Verify and deploy programs and systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
