The Challenge

The founder created this community after discovering firsthand the frustrations of finding trustworthy vendors to help restore an old boat. The boating community needed a platform to link them with reliable marine service providers.

The Outcome

This website lets users browse ratings of service providers and find contact information. They can also submit and read reviews on one platform. Users can connect with each other to chat, share recommendations, and post pictures and videos. A how-to section gives step-by-step instructions on projects that boaters may want to do themselves. Marine service providers can set up a free account and add business details, pictures, logos, and videos. They can respond to reviews and chat with users within the platform. A blog component allows admin to keep post new content and keep the website consistently updated and fresh.

Our Approach

The Flower Press team first spoke to members of the boating community to better understand the challenges faced by both boat owners and service providers. Through stakeholder interviews and conversations with vendors, including appliance repair specialists, mechanics, furniture suppliers, and boat dealers, we uncovered a common problem: there was no trusted, centralized place for boaters to find reliable providers, share recommendations, or access community knowledge. Using those insights, we designed and developed a mobile-responsive platform to give service providers a simple way to showcase their businesses through structured profiles, photos, reviews, and moderated content. We also created intuitive filtering tools to help users quickly find relevant services, along with lightweight community features such as forums and events to encourage ongoing engagement and connection within this niche audience.

Ongoing Growth

The boating community has continued to shape the platform with provider reviews and forum activity. Flower Press was pleased to be able to offer users a simple and trustworthy way to connect with vendors for the supplies and services they need.
